Anduril Flashlight Guide

Anduril Flashlight Guide

Overview

Popular flashlight models such as the Noctigon KR4 and Sofirn BLF LT1 include a wealth of customizable features, based on the portable Anduril firmware standard. Anduril unifies many proprietary flashlight control mechanisms into a single, repeatable operational workflow.

Unfortunately, some Anduril models neglect to document their true capabilities. We detail core functions here for your convenience.

This is particularly relevant for the Nocticon Emissar KR4 and Sofirn LT1 models, which fail to persist settings when replacing the batteries.

[SOLVED] Please help me get Homebrew working again on the DTK

Update: SOLVED

Thanks to @indirect’s help, I’m back up and running. Turns out there’s that directory /Library/Ruby/Gems/2.6.0/specifications/default. It contains a couple of gemspecs you really can’t (and shouldn’t ever) delete.

With the default gemspecs back in place, I was able to apply the fiddle hack mentioned below, and got Homebrew working again.

Enable High Quality mode on your headphones (Updated for macOS Catalina)

If you're using a high-end bluetooth headset on your Macbook Pro it's likely your mac is using an audio codec which favors battery efficiency over high quality. This results in a drastic degradation of sound, the SBC codec is the likely culprit, read more about it here.

Find out what codec you're using

  1. Play a song on your headphones
  2. Option (⌥) click the Bluetooth button at the top of your screen Inspect the Bluetooth Coded
  3. If you're using AAC or aptX, you can stop here—those are the highest quality codecs.

Change your codec to AAC or aptX

How to passthrough SATA drives directly on VMWare ESXI 6.5 as RDMs

How to passthrough SATA drives directly on VMWare EXSI 6.5 as RDMs

There aren't many tutorials about this, the only tutorials I've found were about passing through entire PCIe cards to VMs, or refered to old ESXI versions (below 6.5) that used a more comprehensive desktop client instead of the web app. In v6.5, the web app was introduced and the desktop client was deprecated. You used to be able to setup RDMs in the desktop client, but with the introduction of the web console, this is no longer the case. This tutorial shows you how to pass SATA HDDs to the virtual machine on VMWare ESXI 6.5. This tutorial is partially based on VMWare's own KB and the now deprecated Forza IT blog post.

A word about VMWare ESXI 6.7

There is now an option while editing your VM's settings to add a New raw disk when you click `Add ha

How to fix Apple Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard (Windows 10)

The driver situation with Apple Bluetooth wireless keyboards and Windows 10 is horrible, even with the latest BootCamp drivers. Fortunately, a workaround is available, if you're patient.

Pair keyboard once

  1. Turn on the keyboard.
  2. Press and hold Command + w until the keyboard light begins blinking, indicating the keyboard is ready to pair.
  3. Use Windows Bluetooth settings to pair the keyboard, entering the same code (e.g. 123456 Enter) on both internal and external keyboards.

Pairing the keyboard is very trial and error. 9/10 times, Windows will complain that the keyboard is not available for pairing. Just keep trying.

Don't use VPN services.

Don't use VPN services.

No, seriously, don't. You're probably reading this because you've asked what VPN service to use, and this is the answer.

Note: The content in this post does not apply to using VPN for their intended purpose; that is, as a virtual private (internal) network. It only applies to using it as a glorified proxy, which is what every third-party "VPN provider" does.

  • A Turkish translation can be found here, contributed by agyild.
  • There's also this article about VPN services, which is honestly better written (and has more cat pictures!) than my article.
