You're Missing the Point of Promises

Promises are a software abstraction that makes working with asynchronous operations much more pleasant. In the most basic definition, your code will move from continuation-passing style:

The problem

When I list my npm packages with npm ls -g (or without the -g option for a local node_modules directory) I see all installed packages and their dependencies. Like so:
