Super simple library for date time formatting.
var dateUtil = function () {
var monthDict = ['Jan', 'Feb', 'Mar', 'Apr', 'May', 'Jun', 'Jul', 'Aug', 'Sep', 'Oct', 'Nov', 'Dec'];
return {
time: function (date) {
var hour = date.getHours(),
min = date.getMinutes() + "",
ampm = 'AM';
if (hour == 0) {
hour = 12;

Move your stashes from one repo to another

Move your stashes from one repo to another

This was useful for me when we created a new branch for a new major release, but were still working on our current version as well. I cloned our repo again and kept the new project on our new branch, but also wanted to get my stashes there.

Download your stashes

git stash show -p > patch

You'll have to specify your stash and name your file whatevery you want. Do this for as all your stashes, and you'll have patch files in your pwd.

Deploy to `gh-pages` from a `dist` folder on the master branch. Useful for use with [yeoman](http://yeoman.io).

Deploying a subfolder to GitHub Pages

Sometimes you want to have a subdirectory on the master branch be the root directory of a repositoryโ€™s gh-pages branch. This is useful for things like sites developed with Yeoman, or if you have a Jekyll site contained in the master branch alongside the rest of your code.

For the sake of this example, letโ€™s pretend the subfolder containing your site is named dist.

Step 1

Remove the dist directory from the projectโ€™s .gitignore file (itโ€™s ignored by default by Yeoman).

current font loading snippet
...
// test for font-face version to load via Data URI'd CSS
// Basically, load WOFF unless it's android's default browser, which needs TTF, or ie8-, which needs eot
var fonts = ns.files.css.fontsWOFF,
ua = win.navigator.userAgent;
// android webkit browser, non-chrome
if( ua.indexOf( "Android" ) > -1 && ua.indexOf( "like Gecko" ) > -1 && ua.indexOf( "Chrome" ) === -1 ){
fonts = ns.files.css.fontsTTF;
}

a brief history of detecting local storage

A timeline of the last four years of detecting good old window.localStorage.

Jan Lenhart, bless his heart contributed the first patch for support:

Make it real

Ideas are cheap. Make a prototype, sketch a CLI session, draw a wireframe. Discuss around concrete examples, not hand-waving abstractions. Don't say you did something, provide a URL that proves it.

Ship it

Nothing is real until it's being used by a real user. This doesn't mean you make a prototype in the morning and blog about it in the evening. It means you find one person you believe your product will help and try to get them to use it.

Do it with style
