Magisk Rooting from the command line without TWRP or SP Flash Tool (tested on BV9500 Plus)

I have attempted to post this multiple times on blackview's official forums, but for some reason it never gets approved...

Rooting BV9500 Plus

Foreword

Around a year ago I got a new phone and as always one of the first things I do is try to root it. The majority of online tutorials are a copy-paste of each other, and often start with "Install SP Flash Tool and acquire a TWRP image for your phone model". Being an avid ArchLinux user, I don't want to boot up a Windows machine just to root my phone. Android is Linux, so surely Linux machines can talk directly to each other? The android-tools package solves that issue, and most of this tutorial was done on the command line.

The second issue is that unlike mainstream phones from big names like Samsung and OnePlus, the "Chinese" phone market has a huge variety of makes and models from companies like Blackview, Doogee, Cubot, etc. and often an individual model may not have a big following so there will rarely be an existing tutorial for the exact make/mode

An updated and improved auto-sell script for TownStar

Improved TownStar Auto-Sell Script

Disclaimer

At the time of writing scripts are allowed to be used with TownStar, as long as they don't do anything that breaks the game, but double check what the rules say to be sure: https://support.gala.games/town-star-rules

Use at your own risk, I have tested this and am satisfied it is free of bugs, but I am not responsible for any loss incurred by others that arose from using this script.

Now for the fun stuff...

Quick guide for mandatory Jan 3 Gala Node upgrade

Just a quick guide to combine some of the steps from different articles people posted on discord. This method avoids having to create a whole new machine on Vultr and configure it again, you can use your existing host, upgrade it and then upgrade the software. I personally find this method faster but YMMV.

Please read these references first:

https://www.vultr.com/docs/how-to-upgrade-your-plan-without-reinstalling/
https://support.gala.games/en_US/Gala-Node-Software-Linux/how-do-i-run-a-founder%E2%80%99s-node-on-ubuntu-linux

This guide assumes you are using Vultr VPS hosting and that you have read the links above and upgraded your plan for your Gala Node host to 2vCPU, 4096MB RAM, 80GB SSD, 3.00TB Transfer. However the steps should work on any VPS provider using Ubuntu.
