STJ scans over the investors’ faces but avoids their gaze in an attempt to conceal his innermost feelings. He reminds them why they are there. At the end of his speech he adds, “As you are aware, ours is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in this country. Our last drug tests were successful. Cancerode has been hailed the wonder drug of the century.” He pauses briefly to let his words sink. A few heads nod in approval.
“So you see,” he continues, leaning over the podium to emphasise his point, “if we get additional funding we will be able to offer the drug to more patients and cure cancer completely.” He glances around once more in silence.
