Demonstration of extracting key phrases with NLTK in Python
import nltk
text = """The Buddha, the Godhead, resides quite as comfortably in the circuits of a digital
computer or the gears of a cycle transmission as he does at the top of a mountain
or in the petals of a flower. To think otherwise is to demean the Buddha...which is
to demean oneself."""
# Used when tokenizing words
sentence_re = r'''(?x) # set flag to allow verbose regexps
([A-Z])(\.[A-Z])+\.? # abbreviations, e.g. U.S.A.

PSQL

Magic words:

psql -U postgres

Some interesting flags (to see all, use -h or --help depending on your psql version):

  • -E: will describe the underlaying queries of the \ commands (cool for learning!)
  • -l: psql will list all databases and then exit (useful if the user you connect with doesn't has a default database, like at AWS RDS)
