<LuminaxWk> if you're turned off by Windows, get Debian or similar
<restorer> just as long as I can use it for dev and heavy multitasking
<immibis> at work i had to deal with a device that was driving its interrupt pin high/low at the system clock rate
<immibis> so as soon as I unmasked the interrupt the CPU froze
<SpeedEvil> Flea86: it would be moderately amusing to make a MOV optimised CPU for the above compiler.
<immibis> (actually not quite true, but it did get stuck in an infinite loop of the linux interrupt handler)
<restorer> LuminaxWk: oh, I use Ubuntu (or maybe a variant in the future) for all my non-new-Macs
<restorer> Ubuntu on my Original MacBook
<restorer> linux on any mac the supports it well enough and on which I'm too frustrated by macOS
<Flea86> SpeedEvil: I would rather a fully-functional i386 core :)
<redrabbit> im sticking with this
<Viper-7> not saying its worth changing, but an esp + 8ch adc module + 8 or 16ch io expander would be easier to build, and cheaper, so eh
* Bird|ub3rghosted is now known as Bird|otherbox
<Viper-7> and the latter two are only if you need analog inputs or more io
* bingus908 is now known as bingus
<gurki> Viper-7: how is it a waste when i can code an stm32 in like an hour but will use two weeks to find out how to do $stuff with the esp? ;)
<Viper-7> if saving time is your objective, you'd be using the arduino stack on both, so they're pretty identical :P
<gurki> Viper-7: im actually faster with mbed than with the arduino stack
<gurki> :)
<Viper-7> and mbed has an esp8266 driver
