Using the Day One CLI with Day One 2

The dayone command line tool was originally written to work with Day One Classic, and by default writes its entries to the default Day One Classic journal directory¹. If you want to use the dayone tool to write entries in to Day One 2 instead, there are a couple options.

Option 1. Use this option if you don't use Day One Classic at all.

What forces layout / reflow

All of the below properties or methods, when requested/called in JavaScript, will trigger the browser to synchronously calculate the style and layout*. This is also called reflow or layout thrashing, and is common performance bottleneck.

Generally, all APIs that synchronously provide layout metrics will trigger forced reflow / layout. Read on for additional cases and details.
