Why I wrote this

Before Github supported SSL encryption for github pages sites, many people were using CloudFlare (CF) as their DNS provider and CDN proxy. CF allowed users to enable SSL encryption from the CDN end points/proxies to the end user. This was great and it allowed visitors to your website to connect with a secure connection between their browser and the cloudflare CDN box that was serving your content. Create a private fork of a public repository

The repository for the assignment is public and Github does not allow the creation of private forks for public repositories.

The correct way of creating a private frok by duplicating the repo is documented here.

For this assignment the commands are:

  1. Create a bare clone of the repository. (This is temporary and will be removed so just do it wherever.)

How to mount a qcow2 disk image


This is a quick guide to mounting a qcow2 disk images on your host server. This is useful to reset passwords,
edit files, or recover something without the virtual machine running.

I've done the same process every couple years since 2013 (Mountain
Lion, Mavericks, High Sierra, Catalina) and I updated the Gist each time I've
done it.


I kinda regret for not using something like Boxen
(or anything similar) to automate the process, but TBH I only actually needed to
these steps once every couple years...
