My first-gen SunVault uses two tall M0012 batteries. Later SunVaults use two or three M0020 batteries.
The CAN protocol seems similar to the Pylontech LV CAN protocol, but the message IDs don't line up, so it is not directly compatible.
Note that some of this information is also exposed over Modbus/TCP via the Conext Gateway / InsightFacility. We focus only on CAN here.
UPDATE (March 2020, thanks @ic): I don't know the exact AMI version but yum install docker now works on the latest Amazon Linux 2. The instructions below may still be relevant depending on the vintage AMI you are using.
