Installation of NixOS with encrypted root

These are my notes on instaling NixOS 16.03 on a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (4th generation) with an encrypted root file system using UEFI.

-#, --progress-bar Make curl display a simple progress bar instead of the more informational standard meter.

-b, --cookie <name=data> Supply cookie with request. If no =, then specifies the cookie file to use (see -c).

-c, --cookie-jar <file name> File to save response cookies to.

How to maintain fork sync

Configuring a remote for a fork

To sync changes you make in a fork with the original repository, you must configure a remote that points to the upstream repository in Git.

Open a Terminal
List current configured remote repository for your fork

git remote -v

To clear 307 HSTS redirects in Google Chrome (if you experimenting with SSL -- you probably wouldn't want to do this for a site that you do not opperate, since it is there to protect you), go to the following URL and delete the site.

Debug your PHP in Docker with Intellij/PHPStorm and Xdebug

For your local dev, create a Dockerfile that is based on your production image and simply install xdebug into it. Exemple:

Most VPN Services are Terrible

Short version: I strongly do not recommend using any of these providers. You are, of course, free to use whatever you like. My TL;DR advice: Roll your own and use Algo or Streisand. For messaging & voice, use Signal. For increased anonymity, use Tor for desktop (though recognize that doing so may actually put you at greater risk), and Onion Browser for mobile.
