Docker Machine SSH tunneling

As described on the Docker Machine SSH reference, the docker-machine CLI invokes the standard OpenSSH client so we can use the common SSH tunneling syntax here. The following command will forward port 3000 from the default machine to localhost on your host computer's loopback interface. Using 0.0.0.0 as bind_address will make it bind to all interfaces:

$ docker-machine ssh default -L 0.0.0.0:3000:localhost:3000

So, the container running at machine's port 3000 can be reached through localhost:3000 or any of your interfaces' IP (i.e. 192.168.1.10:3000). That'd be useful to access your containerized services from other devices in your LAN.

Direct copy of pre-encoded file:

$ ffmpeg -i filename.mp4 -codec: copy -start_number 0 -hls_time 10 -hls_list_size 0 -f hls filename.m3u8

reverse sshfs

2014-07-14 Reverse SSHFS mounts (fs push) https://blog.dhampir.no/content/reverse-sshfs-mounts-fs-push

sshfs is a neat way of mounting a file system from one machine to another over an encrypted ssh channel. However, for machine CLIENT to access a file system that resides on machine HOST, CLIENT must generally be able to log in to HOST. In addition, CLIENT must be able to connect to HOST in the first place, though a tunnel from HOST to CLIENT can easily mediate this if a connection can only be initiated in that direction.

However, the login itself may still be an issue. You might not want to type your password for HOST on CLIENT, or set up a keyless login using public/private keys. You might not entirely trust CLIENT, from which you want to access the file system. dpipe to the rescue.

Using dpipe, available in the “vde2” package on Debian (and, likely, derivatives), you can initiate the connection the other way and use sshfs in “slave mode”, in which it communicates over standard input and output instead o

Install dlib and face_recognition on a Raspberry Pi

Instructions tested with a Raspberry Pi 2 with an 8GB memory card. Probably also works fine on a Raspberry Pi 3.

Steps

Download the latest Raspbian Jessie Light image. Earlier versions of Raspbian won't work.

Write it to a memory card using Etcher, put the memory card in the RPi and boot it up.

#Setting up Docker Machine on Raspberry PI

  1. SSH into the pi and install docker with curl -sSL https://get.docker.com | sh (If we let Machine try to install the Docker daemon it will fail.)
  2. Change the OS's ID so Docker Machine won't throw errors. sudo nano /etc/os-release and change the line that says ID=raspbian to ID=debian
  3. From a new terminal window run docker-machine create --driver generic --generic-ip-address YOUR-PIS-IP --generic-ssh-key ~/.ssh/id_rsa --generic-ssh-user pi --engine-storage-driver overlay2 MACHINE-NAME
