HTTP Wrapper with optional Caching
defmodule MyApp.Http do
@moduledoc """
Exposes functions to make HTTP requests and optionally cache the response.
If you want to cache the request, simply add `cache: true` to the
request options. You can also define an option time-to-live (TTL) with
`cache_ttl: ttl_in_milliseconds`. The default TTL is 5min.
Only caches 2xx responses.

Pure ESM package

Pure ESM package

The package that linked you here is now pure ESM. It cannot be require()'d from CommonJS.

This means you have the following choices:

  1. Use ESM yourself. (preferred)
    Use import foo from 'foo' instead of const foo = require('foo') to import the package. You also need to put "type": "module" in your package.json and more. Follow the below guide.
  2. If the package is used in an async context, you could use await import(…) from CommonJS instead of require(…).
  3. Stay on the existing version of the package until you can move to ESM.
// create a bookmark and use this code as the URL, you can now toggle the css on/off

javascript: (function() {
var elements = document.body.getElementsByTagName('*');
var items = [];
for (var i = 0; i < elements.length; i++) {
if (elements[i].innerHTML.indexOf('* { background:#000!important;color:#0f0!important;outline:solid #f00 1px!important; background-color: rgba(255,0,0,.2) !important; }') != -1) {
items.push(elements[i]);
}

Why do I have to write JSON decoders in Elm?

A vision for data interchange in Elm

How do you send information between clients and servers? What format should that information be in? What happens when the server changes the format, but the client has not been updated yet? What happens when the server changes the format, but the database cannot be updated?

These are difficult questions. It is not just about picking a format, but rather picking a format that can evolve as your application evolves.

Literature Review

By now there are many approaches to communicating between client and server. These approaches tend to be known within specific companies and language communities, but the techniques do not cross borders. I will outline JSON, ProtoBuf, and GraphQL here so we can learn from them all.
