While in the rescue mode, type these commands:

set prefix=(hd0,1)/boot/grub
insmod normal
normal

If you get an error on any of them, change the hd,1 to hd,2 or hd,3, etc until you don't get an error

Once booted into the OS, run these two commands to make it stick:
