Rename files in linux / bash using mv command without typing the full name two times
# Put this function to your .bashrc file.
# Usage: mv oldfilename
# If you call mv without the second parameter it will prompt you to edit the filename on command line.
# Original mv is called when it's called with more than one argument.
# It's useful when you want to change just a few letters in a long name.
#
# Also see:

Difficult Conversations outline

Step 1: Prepare by Walking Through the Three Conversations

  1. Sort out What Happened.
  • Where does your story come from (information, past experiences, rules)? Theirs?
  • What impact has this situation had on you? What might their intentions have been?
  • What have you each contributed to the problem?
  1. Understand Emotions.

So you want to modify the text of a PDF by hand

So you want to modify the text of a PDF by hand...

If you, like me, resent every dollar spent on commercial PDF tools, you might want to know how to change the text content of a PDF without having to pay for Adobe Acrobat or another PDF tool. I didn't see an obvious open-source tool that lets you dig into PDF internals, but I did discover a few useful facts about how PDFs are structured that I think may prove useful to others (or myself) in the future. They are recorded here. They are surely not universally applicable --
the PDF standard is truly Byzantine -- but they worked for my case.

Approaching frontend as a backend developer, Svelte feels surprisingly pythonic. Let's take a quick look at what's familiar, what's foreign, and how to explore the gap.
