Poem lines broadcast by my ISP-provided fiber optical modem
# My ISP-provided fiber optical modem broadcasts a line of a poem every ten seconds. Here's the tcpdump of the complete poem.
# The optical modem is made by Shanghai Nokia-Bell Co.,Ltd and its model number is G-140W-UD. It's provided by my ISP, China Unicom in Shenzhen.

Using your Kindle as an e-ink monitor

3.5 fps, Paperwhite 3
@adtac_

step 1: jailbreak your Kindle

mobileread.com is your best resource here, follow the instructions from the LanguageBreak thread

I didn't really follow the LanguageBreak instructions because I didn't care about most of the features + I was curious to do it myself, but the LanguageBreak github repo was invaluable for debugging

Use WSJT-X decode delta_t time offsets to sync system clock via chrony SOCK
#!/usr/bin/python3
"""Use WSJT-X decode time offsets from ALL.TXT to sync system clock through chrony SOCK.
Digital radio modes like FT8 require system time to be at least coarsely in sync.
Normally of course you can stay in sync via NTP, but I find when I am offline (e.g. at a
remote field location for POTA) I get out of sync pretty often. You can reset system time
manually (chronyc manual on; chronyc settime; chronyc makestep ...), but I have had cases
where it still drifts out of sync repeatedly and disrupts QSOs. It is also more critical to
be in sync for FT4 compared to FT8, and FT4 is frequently useful when trying to run QRP on
crowded 20m.
