Node app deploy with nginx & SSL

Node.js Deployment

Steps to deploy a Node.js app to DigitalOcean using PM2, NGINX as a reverse proxy and an SSL from LetsEncrypt

1. Create a droplet and log in via ssh

I will be using the root user, but would suggest creating a new user

2. Install Node/NPM

curl -sL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_12.x | sudo -E bash -

Multiple Gitlab accounts with multiple ssh keys

Gitlab won't allow reuse of a public ssh key for multiple accounts. To get around this you need to create a second ssh key for the second account.

Create or modify your ~/.ssh/config file:

# normal
Host gitlab.com-work_username
     HostName gitlab.com
     PreferredAuthentications publickey
 IdentityFile ~/.ssh/id_rsa
