HOWTO - Setup pylint with PyCharm and the PyLint Plugin

Overivew

Setting up a linter can help detect odd or non-typical coding practices. The following will describe how to setup PyCharm for basic linting with the PyCharm PyLint plugin.

This assumes you have a venv setup within your current project.

Install Pylint

For pylint for your current project venv the following two commands should be run in your project root. The first will install pylint and the second will create an rc file which you can then adjust for your current project.

Linux Desktop on Apple Silicon in Practice

Linux Desktop on Apple Silicon in Practice

NOTE: Time flies, and it's been almost five years(!) since I wrote this. Beaware the text below is now outdated (e.g., now Asahi Linux has graphics acceleration even better than this). The commands listed are up-to-date.

I bought M1 MacBook Air. It is the fastest computer I have, and I have been a GNOME/GNU/Linux user for long time. It is obvious conclusion that I need practical Linux desktop environment on Apple Silicon.

How to install and configure PixlOne's logid to program Logitech MX Master 3 buttons on Linux.

Logitech MX Master 3 Extras for Linux With logiops

The Logitech Options program isn't available for Linux, but by a nice guy on GitHub (PixlOne) created an open source project that lets you obtain some of that functionality. It's called logiops. It works in conjunction with the Solaar project as well, which I find especially handy since that shows your available battery life in the system tray and lets you pair/unpair devices with the Logitech Unifying Receiver.

Here are some additional pages with info that I used to generate this documentation:
