CSS Challenges
Challenge 1

In this exercise I focused on divs and margins to create the squares. Used the float tag to get the boxes on either side of the screen. Gave divs height, width and color so you could see them. Challenge 1

Challenge 2

Used float attribute to get the boxes on the sides they needed to be and a margin:auto to force the 2nd box into the middle position. Challenge 2

##Day 1

  1. On a website, what is the purpose of HTML code?
  • HTML tells the browser the structure of the website pages by using elements.
  1. What is the difference between an element and a tag?
  • Elements tell the browser information about what lies between it's opening and closing tags. Tags are like containers and they hold the elements in them.
  1. Why do we use attributes in HTML elements?
  • They provide additional information about the contents of an element. Attributes allow you to more easily target an element.
  1. Describe the purpose of the head, title, and body HTML elements.
  • Everything in the body element is shown on the main broswer winder.
  • The head contains info about the page.
1. Some of the behaviors that resonated with me in the first article were
* Googling
* Code is cheap, don't be afraid to delete and take a new approach
* Be a leader, not a boss.
These resonated with me because I have learend that googling is extremely powerful in helping to find the answer to your problem. It may not give you the answer directly, but it gives you a hint and then it's up to you to translate that into your code, which becomes a learning experience!
Another thing I completely agree with is that code is cheap. It's very easy to go down a rabbit hole and not want to delete and try again because you've spent x amount of hours to get where you are but aren't getting anywhere. Deleting and trying a new approach can save you so much time in the long run. It's a practice that's hard for some people, but very valuable.

- I dont think my perceptions have really changed that much. My overall theme in my strengths seemed to be related to connecting with peole, putting myself
in their shoes, making sure everyone is getting along, so I feel like that's all pretty straight forward.
How are you different today than when you first started at Turing? Where are you stronger now than on day 1?

How have you changed since you started at Turing? How have your strengths helped you in that progress?
- I think I'm better at voicing my opinions and being able to work well with all kinds of people. I think almost my pairings this mod went
well and I believe my strengths played a part in that. In the past I might have been too agreeable, which is my Harmony strength,
but I was able to express my opinions more as the program goes along.

I did get a response and we did meet and he is now my mentor!

How did you prepare for the conversation? I thought about what my intent in the conversation was and tried to stick to that with the
way I was communicating so that nothing was misinterpreted.
How did the conversation go for you? What was easy about the conversation? What was more difficult?
I found the conversation to be kind of awkward but fine. I think it's important to get and give feedback so that you can try and fix
things you might not have even realized you were doing. I thought the appreciation feedback was easy but the coaching feedback more difficult.
