I will be honest, I am sick and tired of building stuff that "I think is cool and no one else does". And as we all know execution + good idea = money. The furthest people get typically is the idea stage; I have taken more than a couple things well past the idea (some producing passive revenue, some failed, some I scrapped), so my proposal for this experiment:
1. Post an idea in the thread, with an estimated price to the consumer:
eg; online service that will photoshop a photo for 9.99$
2. Have it be webbased (no iphone/droid apps, currently in between macs)
3. The first idea that gets 10 people to email me, and say they will pay for the app I will build it (most of it this weekend)
4. if you want to take an active marketing role, and have a proven track 50/50 split (my way).
<div class="span3">
<div class="project wordpress">
<img src="assets/4.png" alt="" />
<span>
<a data-rel="prettyPhoto[gallery1]" href="assets/4.png">
<img src="assets/zoom.png" alt="">
</a>
<a href="#"><img src="assets/link.png" alt=""></a>
</span>
</div>
1. Site where you can upload an image, and for 9.99 get it photoshopped how you would like
2. Domain parking service catering to heroku, but can by used by anyone; allows people to sell domains
3. hire-an-admin, hire an admin/webmaster/devops specialist to perform continuous work on a site
4. crowd-source stock photos
5. threadloop.com
<%= form_for(resource, :as => resource_name, :url => registration_path(resource_name), :html => {:class => "form"}) do |f| %>
<% @user.domains.build %>
<%= devise_error_messages! %>

<%= f.password_field :password, :placeholder => "Password" %>
<%= f.password_field :password_confirmation, :placeholder => "Password again, please." %>
<%= f.fields_for :domains do |domain_form| %>
<%= domain_form.text_field :domain_name, :placeholder => "Domain Name" %>
