a simple git branching model (written in 2013)

This is a very simple git workflow. It (and variants) is in use by many people. I settled on it after using it very effectively at Athena. GitHub does something similar; Zach Holman mentioned it in this talk.

A friend asked me for a few pointers to interesting, mostly recent papers on data warehousing and "big data" database systems, with an eye towards real-world deployments. I figured I'd share the list. It's biased and rather incomplete but maybe of interest to someone.
