Using the "More" button. Of course the simple way that Apple uses in Mail/iOS is not public. rdar://16600859
- (NSString *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView titleForSwipeAccessoryButtonForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
return @"More";
}
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView swipeAccessoryButtonPushedForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
NSLog(@"I wanted to be a pretty public API, but then time ran out and they forgot me...");
// Hide the More/Delete menu.
[self setEditing:NO animated:YES];

Declare on your main init that all other init methods should call. It's a nice additional semantic warning. Works with Xcode 5.1 and above. Not tested with earlier variants, but should just be ignored. A reference to this macro shortly appeared in https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/releasenotes/ObjectiveC/ModernizationObjC/AdoptingModernObj…

Provides the ability to verify key paths at compile time.
If "keyPath" does not exist, a compile-time error will be generated.
Example:
// Verifies "isFinished" exists on "operation".
NSString *key = SQKeyPath(operation, isFinished);
// Verifies "isFinished" exists on self.

Works around the issue where UITextView doesn't scroll to the new line until there's a character in there. Super horrible workaround.
- (BOOL)textView:(UITextView *)textView shouldChangeTextInRange:(NSRange)range replacementText:(NSString *)text {
// Horrible HACK for bug in UITextView where it won't scroll to the new line after pressing enter in the text view.
// I feel dirty for having to write this. Buggy at least within iOS 7.0 - 7.1b1.
if (PSPDFIsUIKitFlatMode() && [text isEqualToString:@"\n"] && range.location == textView.text.length) {
dispatch_time_t popTime = dispatch_time(DISPATCH_TIME_NOW, (int64_t)(0.1 * NSEC_PER_SEC));

Delegate proxying (`protocol_methodForEach()` is a custom function that does just what its name implies)
@interface DDDelegateProxy : NSProxy
+ (id)proxyForDelegate:(id)delegate conformingToProtocol:(Protocol *)protocol;
@property (weak, readonly) id delegate;
@property (strong, readonly) Protocol *protocol;
/*!
* Set a default return value for a method on the delegate's protocol.
* \param value This must be a block that returns the default value. Bad Things will happen if it's not.

A simple way to detect at runtime if we're running in UIKit legacy mode or the new "flat" variant. Written for our PDF iOS SDK (http://pspdfkit.com), where the precompiled binary needs to detect at runtime in what variant it's running. Want more stuff like that? Follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/steipete
// Taken from http://PSPDFKit.com. This snippet is under public domain.
#define UIKitVersionNumber_iOS_7_0 0xB57

if (kCFCoreFoundationVersionNumber >= kCFCoreFoundationVersionNumber_iOS_7_0) {
isUIKitFlatMode = (NSVersionOfLinkTimeLibrary("UIKit") >> 16) >= UIKitVersionNumber_iOS_7_0;

Search the current directory for unused images. Useful for finding leftover assets from files which exist in Xcode project or in your repository.
# This simple python utility crawls the current directory and finds all images.
# It will then search the directory for files using these images and also mark
# any xcode projects which include these images.
#
# Allowing you to easily find images which are no longer used (or even images
# included in xcode and not used).
#
# Usage, cd into your repository and then run:
#
# curl https://gist.github.com/kylef/6316920/raw/images.py -# | python -
