Get the submodule initially

$ git submodule add git://github.com/twitter/bootstrap.git lib
$ git submodule init

Time passes, submodule upstream is updated and you now want to update change to the submodule directory

$ cd submodule_dir

Checkout desired branch

Updating homebrew fails

$ brew update

Error such as:

error: Your local changes to the following files would be overwritten by merge:
    README.md
Please, commit your changes or stash them before you can merge.

Initial server setup

1. Login

Login as the main user:

Node.js

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install python-software-properties python g++ make
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:chris-lea/node.js
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nodejs

It installs current stable Node on the current stable Ubuntu. Quantal (12.10) users may need to install the software-properties-common package for the add-apt-repository command to work:
