Setup git on the CLI to use 2FA with GitHub

These are instructions for setting up git to authenticate with GitHub when you have 2-factor authentication set up. This authentication should be inherited by any GUI client you are using. These are intentionally brief instructions, with links to more detail in the appropriate places.

  1. Download and install the git command-line client (if required).

  2. Open the git bash window and introduce yourself to git (if required):

    git config --global user.name 'Firstname Lastname'
    git config --global user.email '[email protected]'

This gist has been moved to its own Github repo, so it's easier to contribute with additions and corrections. Please open a PR there if you see any mistake, I don't track comments on here as there's no notification system for gists AFAIK. Thanks.

Using Operator Mono in Atom

* Using Operator Mono in Atom
*
* 1. Open up Atom Preferences.
* 2. Click the “Open Config Folder” button.
* 3. In the new window’s tree view on the left you should see a file called “styles.less”. Open that up.
* 4. Copy and paste the CSS below into that file. As long as you have Operator Mono SSm installed you should be golden!
* 5. Tweak away.
