Huawei E8372 Linux Configuration and Setup

Dependencies

  1. usb_modeswitch, usb_modeswitch-data
  2. libusb1
  3. libusb-devel(Fedora), libusb-dev(Debian based)

Configuration

By default, your linux box would register your Huawei E8372 as a Mass Storage device and not (somehow) as a modem. First, make sure you have the exace same device we're talking about. This can be confirmed by looking at 2 values. Give the following command (while the dongle is plugged in):

    sudo su
    lsusb | grep Huawei

How to get MWAN3 Working Properly on OpenWRT / LEDE

In experience to get a proper working multiple wan configuration using mwan3 starting from scratch you should:

Important: this works well on OpenWRT 15.05.1, on newer versions there was some breaking changes, for example, the wan ifaces have ipv6 capability and now are named with letters ("wan, wanb... , wanc" instead of "wan, wan2... wan3" so wanb6 means 2nd wan ipv6.): https://github.com/openwrt/packages/blob/master/net/mwan3/files/etc/config/mwan3

The official documentation seems to be very detailed and up to date, I recommend reading those first: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wan/multiwan/mwan3 but I recommend to give a look at my config file below, since my approach for policyes is very nice.

First of all: Activate conntrack, docs says that is important and neccesary to get MWAN3 work properly, and it is needed to reboot:

Writing your own structural directives with context variables

Complete code in math.directive.ts

After reading this you will be able to create a structural directive with inputs and context variables and use it like this:

<div *math="10; exponent: 3; let input;
            let exponent = exponent; let r = root;
let p = power; let ctrl = controller">

Create a private fork of a public repository

The repository for the assignment is public and Github does not allow the creation of private forks for public repositories.

The correct way of creating a private frok by duplicating the repo is documented here.

For this assignment the commands are:

  1. Create a bare clone of the repository. (This is temporary and will be removed so just do it wherever.)

git clone --bare [email protected]:usi-systems/easytrace.git
