Bridge Function between Kinesis Streams and Step Functions

For each record read from the Kinesis Stream, a StepFunction state machine will be executed asynchronously.

Required Environment Variables

• region: the AWS region where your StepFunction state machine is defined.
• stateMachineArn: the ARN of the StepFunction state machine you want to execute.

Using jq, we can convert between CloudFormation parameter files and CodePipeline template configuration files:

$ jq '{ Parameters: [ .[] |  { (.ParameterKey): .ParameterValue }  ] | add } ' < cloudformation_parameter_file.json

This is useful in the case of receiving 'Template configuration is not valid' when running a CloudFormation action.

This script performs the following actions:

1. Creates a TLS certificate in ACM
2. Upserts a validation CNAME record in Route 53
3. Waits for the validation CNAME record to complete/update
4. Waits for the certificate to validate and issue
5. Outputs a description of the certificate

This obviously assumes that your domain's DNS is hosted on Route 53. It also uses the AWS credentials and region for the environment it is executed in.
