Nginx server notes

The following is from scotthelme.co.uk

Content Security Policy

with Content Security Policy (CSP) enabled(and a browser that supports it(http://caniuse.com/#feat=contentsecuritypolicy), you can tell the browser that it can only download content from the domains you explicitly allow http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/security/content-security-policy/ https://www.owasp.org/index.php/Content_Security_Policy I need to change our application code so we can increase security by disabling 'unsafe-inline' 'unsafe-eval'

List of JavaScript Crypto libraries.

JavaScript Crypto Libraries

List some crypto libraries for JavaScript out there. Might be a bit out dated. Scroll to the bottom.

WebCryptoAPI

http://www.w3.org/TR/WebCryptoAPI/

This specification describes a JavaScript API for performing basic cryptographic operations in web applications, such as hashing, signature generation and verification, and encryption and decryption. Additionally, it describes an API for applications to generate and/or manage the keying material necessary to perform these operations. Uses for this API range from user or service authentication, document or code signing, and the confidentiality and integrity of communications.

My preferred configuration for a Laravel 4 API endpoint running over PHP-FPM, when I need to talk to it with AngularJS.
server {
root /path/to/app/public;
index index.php;
server_name test.dev;
set $cors_headers "whatever-custom-headers,you-would-like";
# redirection to index.php
location / {
try_files $uri $uri/ /index.php?$query_string;

Gmail/Google Reader Sidebar Scroll Shadows

Neat effect that mimics the scroll shadows that appear in the GOogle sitde bar and visually cues users to scroll up or down depending on their position.
