Setup PHP Code Sniffer in Sublime Text

The PHP Code Sniffer helps identity violations again coding standards (ie. PSR) as well as syntax errors in your code. The following tutorial explains how to setup the PHP Code Sniffer in Sublime Text (on OSX). This has been tested in Sublime Text 2 and Sublime Text 3.

1. Install PHP_CodeSniffer

Using Pear

You can use Pear, but that's just confusing, and requires you to have Pear installed. Move on to the next option.

Why I Like Go

A slightly updated version of this doc is here on my website.

Why I Like Go

I visited with PagerDuty yesterday for a little Friday beer and pizza. While there I got started talking about Go. I was asked by Alex, their CEO, why I liked it. Several other people have asked me the same question recently, so I figured it was worth posting.

Goroutines

The first 1/2 of Go's concurrency story. Lightweight, concurrent function execution. You can spawn tons of these if needed and the Go runtime multiplexes them onto the configured number of CPUs/Threads as needed. They start with a super small stack that can grow (and shrink) via dynamic allocation (and freeing). They are as simple as go f(x), where f() is a function.

The Future of Renderables, in Theory

/**
* DISCLAIMER: This is a purely theoretical example.

* Let's render a paged list of nodes, using a component. Components
* are common layout recipes, and we wish to provide a Theme
* Component Library that developers can use. These are similar in
* concept to the traditional theme functions, but should be more
* flexible and reusable by core and contrib. We're hoping that

The CouchDB Plugin System

This document describes a possible future CouchDB Plugin system.

This is a work in progress, all the feedback is welcome. Please simplify and rewrite this as you see fit.

Once this is a solid description of what we want to build, we cna start building it.
