DevOps started out as "Agile Systems Administration". In 2008, at the Agile Conference in Toronto, Andrew Shafer posted an offer to moderate an ad hoc "Birds of a Feather" meeting to discuss the topic of "Agile Infrastructure". Only one person showed up to discuss the topic: Patrick Debois. Their discussions and sharing of ideas with others advanced the concept of "agile systems administration". 🚨 2020 Update: I recommend using mkcert to generate local certificates. You can do everything below by just running the commands brew install mkcert and mkcert -install. Keep it simple!

This gives you that beautiful green lock in Chrome. I'm assuming you're putting your SSL documents in /etc/ssl, but you can put them anywhere and replace the references in the following commands. Tested successfully on Mac OS Sierra and High Sierra.

Methods of Signing Git Commits on MacOS

This Gist explains how to sign commits using gpg in a step-by-step fashion. Previously, krypt.co was heavily mentioned, but I've only recently learned they were acquired by Akamai and no longer update their previous free products. Those mentions have been removed.

Additionally, 1Password now supports signing Git commits with SSH keys and makes it pretty easy-plus you can easily configure Git Tower to use it for both signing and ssh.

For using a GUI-based GIT tool such as Tower or Github Desktop, follow the steps here for signing your commits with GPG.
