A shell script to install all apps / packages I usually use for working as an Interactive developer (not tested for now though)
#!/usr/bin/env bash
# Install command-line tools using Homebrew.
# Ask for the administrator password upfront.
sudo -v
# Keep-alive: update existing `sudo` time stamp until the script has finished.

#!/usr/bin/env bash
# Put this file in /usr/local/bin and then run chmod +x on it to make it executable

How effectively delete a git submodule.

To remove a submodule you need to:

  • Delete the relevant section from the .gitmodules file.
  • Stage the .gitmodules changes git add .gitmodules
  • Delete the relevant section from .git/config.
  • Run git rm --cached path_to_submodule (no trailing slash).
  • Run rm -rf .git/modules/path_to_submodule (no trailing slash).
  • Commit git commit -m "Removed submodule "
  • Delete the now untracked submodule files rm -rf path_to_submodule
