Installs ruby-2.0.0-p0 on ubuntu via checkinstall so it's in your package manager and you can remove it.

#Overview drip is an awesome command line tool that can be used to dramatically lower perceived JVM startup time. It does this by preloading an entirely new JVM process\instance and allowing you to simply use the preloaded environment. This has extraordinary results with jruby.

We reduced time to run rake environment from 13 seconds to a mere 3.5 seconds. This is actually at or near MRI 1.9.3p327 (with falcon patch) speeds!

Adding a few addition jruby options will reduce startup time even further (down to 1.69 seconds).

Your class can be no longer than 100 lines of code.
Your methods can be no longer than five lines of code.
You can pass no more than four parameters and you can’t just make it one big hash.
When a call comes into your Rails controller, you can only instantiate one object to do whatever it is that needs to be done. And your view can only know about one instance variable.

You can break these rules if you can talk your pair into agreeing with you.

On Mac OS X:

Install puppet 3.0.2, facter 1.6.17 and hiera 1.1.2
create /etc/puppet/puppet.conf
configure launchd puppet daemon
initial puppet run

Locate the section for your github remote in the .git/config file. It looks like this:

Now add the line fetch = +refs/pull/*/head:refs/remotes/origin/pr/* to this section. Obviously, change the github url to match your project's URL. It ends up looking like this:
