Client Blob Cache

What's the Client Blob Cache

The Client Blob Cache is a new Bedrock optimization - it allows blocks and biomes to be cached on Clients to avoid resending identical chunks over and over. Chunks and biomes make up the vast majority of network traffic in a lot of common cases (eg. login, teleport or dimension switches) but at the same time, they rarely change. Allowing the Client to reuse chunks it has seen in the past can save a ton of traffic and latency!

The Client Cache is a Content Addressed Storage (a bit like git) that stores Blobs and retrieves them based on their full hashes (BlobIds). This means that the cache doesn't actually know about Chunks - in the future, we might start using it for more types of data, like skins or data driven entities.

A nice thing we get from the CAS approach is that the cache is persistent: returning players will be able to reuse content that was sent them in previous sessions or even previous sessions in different servers as long as tha

McpeProxy

A proxy for cheating on Minecraft: Bedrock Edition servers !

What is "McpeProxy" ?

It's a Minecraft:BE server which can be used to connect yourself to other servers (the connection passes throughout it).
It acts as an intermediary beetween you and the real Minecraft server, basically a proxy.

You've probably stumbled upon this researching how to remove the Xbox Game Bar. This gist includes a few different methods you can try. Please note that some of these first options are probably not be available unless you are running an older version of Windows 10.

Press Windows Key or click on the Start menu.
Start typing Xbox or Game Bar, until you get the Xbox Game Bar app to appear in the results.

2023 update

ℹ️ Please note this research is from 2016 when Opera has first added their browser "VPN", even before the "Chinese deal" was closed. They have since introduced some real VPN apps but this below is not about them.

🕵️ Some folks also like to use this article to show a proof that the Opera browser is a spyware or that Opera sells all your data to 3rd parties or something like that. This article here doesn't say anything like that.

When setting up (that's immediately when user enables it in settings) Opera VPN sends few API requests to https://api.surfeasy.com to obtain credentials and proxy IPs, see below, also see The Oprah Proxy.

The browser then talks to a proxy de0.opera-proxy.net (when VPN location is set to Germany), it's IP address can only be resolved from within Opera when VPN is on, it's 185.108.219.42 (or similar, see below). It's an HTTP/S proxy which requires auth.
