Laravel Quick Tip: Handling CsrfToken Expiration gracefully
Quick tip for handling CSRF Token Expiration - common issue is when you use csrf protection is that if
a form sits there for a while (like a login form, but any the same) the csrf token in the form will
expire & throw a strange error.
Handling it is simple, and is a good lesson for dealing with other types of errors in a custom manner.
In Middleware you will see a file VerifyCsrfToken.php and be tempted to handle things there. DON'T!
Instead, look at your app/Exceptions/Handler.php, at the render($request, Exception $e) function.
All of your exceptions go through here, unless you have excluded them in the $dontReport array at the

Firefox about:config privacy settings

ABOUT

about:config settings to harden the Firefox browser. Privacy and performance enhancements.
To change these settings type 'about:config' in the url bar. Then search the setting you would like to change and modify the value. Some settings may break certain websites from functioning and rendering normally. Some settings may also make firefox unstable. I am not liable for any damages/loss of data.

Not all these changes are necessary and will be dependent upon your usage and hardware. Do some research on settings if you don't understand what they do. These settings are best combined with your standard privacy extensions (HTTPS Everywhere No longer required: Enable HTTPS-Only Mode, NoScript/Request Policy, uBlock origin, agent spoofing, Privacy Badger etc), and all plugins set to "Ask To Activate".

Quickly build boilerplate for your Laravel 5.1 application's resources. Builds a Model, Migration, Controller, FormRequests, Commands, and Events in one expression. Simply place this file into App/Console/Commands/ and add " \App\Console\Commands\Resource\SeedResource::class" to your $commands array in App\Console\Kernel.php
<?php
namespace App\Console\Commands;
use Illuminate\Console\Command;

Useful CSS utilities for Vue.js cloaking

Handy helpers for controlling visibility of elements until Vue has compiled.

Use like:

<div v-cloak>
  <h1>
    <span class="v-cloak--inline">Loading...</span> <!-- Only displayed before compiling -->
    <span class="v-cloak--hidden">{{ post.title }}</span> <!-- Hidden until compiling is finished -->

A work-in-progress attempt to explain how a few small packages aide me in application development.

NOTE: Some recent, major refactoring has made some sections of this document inaccurate. It will be updated soon.

Handling Requests in Laravel With the Help of Ruby-Inspired Packages

I am a PHP developer that has done a lot of Ruby on Rails development over the last few years. There are a few gems I found especially useful again and again.

A CSS pseudo-element is used to style specified parts of an element. In some cases you can style native HTML controls with vendor specific pseudo-elements. Here you will find an list of cross browser specific pseudo-element selectors.

Styling native elements

Native HTML controls are a challenge to style. You can style any element in the web platform that uses Shadow DOM with a pseudo element ::pseudo-element or the /deep/ path selector.
