iwatakeshi / A Nuxt.js VPS production deployment.md
Created August 14, 2019 02:34 — forked from DreaMinder/A Nuxt.js VPS production deployment.md
Deployment manual for a real-world project built with nuxt.js + koa + nginx + pm2

Example of deployment process which I use in my Nuxt.js projects. I usually have 3 components running per project: admin-panel SPA, nuxt.js renderer and JSON API.

This manual is relevant for VPS such as DigitalOcean.com or Vultr.com. It's easier to use things like Now for deployment but for most cases VPS gives more flexebillity needed for projects bigger than a landing page.

UPD: This manual now compatible with nuxt@2.3. For older versions deployment, see revision history.

Let's assume that you have entered fresh installation of Ubuntu instance via SSH. Let's rock:

How effectively delete a git submodule.

To remove a submodule you need to:

  • Delete the relevant section from the .gitmodules file.
  • Stage the .gitmodules changes git add .gitmodules
  • Delete the relevant section from .git/config.
  • Run git rm --cached path_to_submodule (no trailing slash).
  • Run rm -rf .git/modules/path_to_submodule (no trailing slash).
  • Commit git commit -m "Removed submodule "
  • Delete the now untracked submodule files rm -rf path_to_submodule

Codesign gdb on OSX

Note: these instructions are for pre-Sierra MacOS. Sierra Users: see https://gist.github.com/gravitylow/fb595186ce6068537a6e9da6d8b5b96d by @gravitylow.

If you are getting this in gdb on OSX while trying to run a program:

Unable to find Mach task port for process-id 57573: (os/kern) failure (0x5).
(please check gdb is codesigned - see taskgated(8))
