The postMessage() API is an HTML5 extension that permits string message-passing between frames that don't share the same origin. It is available in all modern browsers. It is not supported in IE6 and IE7.

Installing Nominatim on Amazon Linux / EC2

Introduction

The official instructions for installing Nominatim are complete, but brief in places, and several steps must be changed in the Amazon Linux environment (which is roughly CentOS / Redhat). The steps below are rough record of what I did to get it working, but I didn't keep perfect track so you shouldn't rely on them as a shell script. Just follow each step, make sure it worked, and hopefully you'll need to adapt very little (version numbers, for one thing). (I also skip in and out of root, but you can be more careful if you like.)

This is a step by step instruction on how to create a cluster that has three Solr nodes running in cloud mode. These instructions should work on both a local cluster (for testing) and a remote cluster where each server runs in its own physical machine. This was tested on Solr version 5.4.1 and Zookeeper version 3.4.6
