Thanks for asking for my feedback. Here's the long form.

What I love

  • It's a great tool for product/UI sketching; I use it for sketching out abstract concepts for discussion, and for diagraming low fidelity wireframes for UI/layouts

What drives me nuts

  • The autoshape tool drives me nuts. I love the tool for what it is supposed to be, but in practice it drives me nuts specifically because I usually have to draw the shape like 8 or 9 times before it actually snaps into a shape

What I reeeeealy want

  • Layers (please please please)
  • Dotted lines
  • Scaling and rotating selections
  • Organization like Teams beta had
    • Teams had the concept of categories that grids could live in. At GitHub we got a ton of use out of that, and I really wish the standard version of Paper had those higher level categories that grids could be organized under. Right now, just having one level deep isn't really enough to keep my workflow from feeling cumbersome. I've got dozens of grids and having a way to categorize them would be really helpful.
  • Ability to share to a URL like Teams beta had
    • super useful for sending someone a quick URL in chat, or copying/pasting the image on my desktop computer where I work most of the time, rather than having to send it from the iPad to the computer, then share
  • Ability to live broadcast a board to a URL
    • (for live sketching and note taking) would be really helpful for meetings and group product planning/design review sessions
  • More spaces to add colors
    • I use different color palletes alot, and I'd love to be able to add more, but right now I have to replace other colors I use to do that
  • File syncing between iOS devices

Social experience

  • Sharing stuff to the Public Stream from the app is confusing
    • I tried to create a new board that could be public, but it seems to default to private and I can't figure out how to change it to public from the settings (I only see options to change the name, reorder my grids, and import photos)
    • I eventually discovered that I can share individual sketches to the Public Stream via the Share menu on individual documents, but you have to scroll all the way to the right to even find that in the options list
  • I don't like that anything I share is automatically CC licensed; it keeps me from sharing most things I would otherwise love to share
