Pure CSS fix to iOS zoom bug on device rotation

My approach to fix the iOS bug is documented here:

https://github.com/sergiolopes/ios-zoom-bug-fix

Here I present one experiment with a pure CSS solution, no JS required. It uses width=device-width normally (no device-height hacking) and scales down the page on landscape.

Works fine on all iOS versions.

There's only one problem: on old iOS versions (prior to 4.3.5), the page will get a big empty space at bottom, below the content, when on landscape. Recent iOS versions don't show this behavior.

Adding Tomcat to MAMP
1) Install MAMP normally
2) Download the latest binary of tomcat from http://tomcat.apache.org/ and extract it into the MAMP folder
(you should now have a /Applications/MAMP/apache-tomcat-version folder)
3) Create a link to the apache-tomcat folder:
ln -s /Applications/apache-tomcat-7.0.37/ tomcat
4) Make sure all the binaries are executable:
cd /Applications/tomcat/bin

# This script accepts a simple KML file (e.g. from Google Earth or Scribblemaps.com) and converts to GeoJSON.
# It will not accept KMLs with multiple geometries - they must be entirely of points, paths or polygons,
# or a primitive geometry (such as rectangle or circle)

How to connect PS3 controller to a Mac or PC

This is how you connect PS3 controller to Mac OSX, PC, etc. when previously connected to a PS3. You will need a Mini USB cable. Overcome your laziness, get up of your chair, and go get one!

A big misconception is that keep holding PS button will reset the controller's pairing. It DOES NOT! From my testings, the controller keeps paring with the last machine it was CONNECTED VIA A USB CABLE.

Here are the steps:

Easily setup an Android development environment on a Mac

Here is a high level overview for what you need to do to get most of an Android environment setup and maintained.

Prerequisites (for Homebrew at a minimum, lots of other tools need these too):

  • XCode is installed (via the App Store)
  • XCode command line tools are installed (xcode-select --install will prompt up a dialog)
  • Java

Install Homebrew:

ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.github.com/Homebrew/homebrew/go/install)"
