Create a private key-pair and encrypt it for use in .travis.yml with working code for decrypting it on both linux and osx builders
#!/bin/bash
ssh-keygen -t rsa -N "" -C travis -f ./travis_key
# i only tested the encrypting on Linux.
# on mac you need gsplit instead of split, but the rest should be mostly the same
#
# decryption works on both linux and mac travis-workers
echo "encrypt private"

Force a quick redirect to HTTPS on Github Pages for your domain (and only your domain)
<script>
var host = "YOURDOMAIN.github.io";
if ((host == window.location.host) && (window.location.protocol != "https:"))
window.location.protocol = "https";
</script>

Automounting NFS share in OS X into /Volumes

I have spent quite a bit of time figuring out automounts of NFS shares in OS X...

Somewhere along the line, Apple decided allowing mounts directly into /Volumes should not be possible:

/etc/auto_master (see last line):

#
# Automounter master map
#

+auto_master # Use directory service

How do I round to 2 decimals in python?

How do I round to 2 decimals?

In python, you have floats and decimals that can be rounded. If you care about the accuracy of rounding, use decimal type. If you use floats, you will have issues with accuracy.

All the examples use demical types, except for the original value, which is automatically casted as a float.

To set the context of what we are working with, let's start with an original value.

Original Value

# An example hook script to verify what is about to be committed.
# Called by "git commit" with no arguments. The hook should
# exit with non-zero status after issuing an appropriate message if
# it wants to stop the commit.
#
# Usage:
# Remove the .sh file extension when you put the script in your hooks folder!
