React "Hello World" Examples

Below are a small collection of React examples to get anyone started using React. They progress from simpler to more complex/full featured.

They will hopefully get you over the initial learning curve of the hard parts of React (JSX, props vs. state, lifecycle events, etc).

Usage

You will want to create an index.html file and copy/paste the contents of 1-base.html and then create a scripts.js file and copy/paste the contents of one of the examples into it.

Create Nice-looking Schema Diagrams in PlantUML

PlantUML is a descriptive language to generate a number of types of software diagrams, such as sequence, class, deployment and state diagrams, and many others. PlantUML does not generate very good-looking schema diagrams out of the box, but it supports themes and preprocessed macros. If you use themes and macros, you can not only use a simplified syntax, but also generate beautiful diagrams.

Here is an example of a PlantUML schema diagram, and we will build up the code to generate it.

To start, describe your schemas, tables and columns using this syntax as an example.

Why?

The AWS EKS team works extremely hard. We appreciate all of their effort.

But the aws-vpc-cni requires fine-tuning of complex settings, and:

1. Limits the number of pods you can run on an EC2, based on the number of ENIs that instance size (or type) can support. Pod density is valuable.
2. Requires you to play with settings like WARM_ENI_TARGET, WARM_IP_TARGET, WARM_PREFIX_TARGET, etc...
3. Runs into conditions where Pods get stuck in "Creating," since IP management gets tricky based on cluster pod churn, and aws-vpc-cni...and ENABLE_PREFIX_DELEGATION + branching can lead to a lot of wasted IPs
