Use one of these techniques to install node and npm without having to sudo. Discussed in more detail at http://joyeur.com/2010/12/10/installing-node-and-npm/ Note: npm >=0.3 is *safer* when using sudo.
echo 'export PATH=$HOME/local/bin:$PATH' >> ~/.bashrc
. ~/.bashrc
mkdir ~/local
mkdir ~/node-latest-install
cd ~/node-latest-install
curl http://nodejs.org/dist/node-latest.tar.gz | tar xz --strip-components=1
./configure --prefix=~/local
make install # ok, fine, this step probably takes more than 30 seconds...
curl https://www.npmjs.org/install.sh | sh

Sass/Less Comparison

In this document I am using Sass's SCSS syntax. You can choose to use the indented syntax in sass, if you prefer it, it has no functional differences from the SCSS syntax.

For Less, I'm using the JavaScript version because this is what they suggest on the website. The ruby version may be different.

Luhn10 algorithm

Implementation of the Luhn 10 algorithm to check validity of credit card numbers. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luhn_algorithm for details on the algorithm.

var validCreditCard = function(a,b,c,d,e){for(d=+a[b=a.length-1],e=0;b--;)c=+a[b],d+=++e%2?2*c%10+(c>4):c;return!(d%10)};

validCreditCard('378282246310005'); //=> true
validCreditCard('378282246310006'); //=> false

// some numbers to test with
// 378282246310005 371449635398431 378734493671000
