Incrementally Building the v1/events_controller#index Query

Combining ActiveRecord Scopes with OR [<v5]

This came about while trying to construct an ActiveRecord query.

via http://stackoverflow.com/a/9540911/111363

Note that merge combines WHERE clauses using AND. While ActiveRecord does not currently have the ability to combine relations using OR instead, it is coming in ActiveRecord 5 (https://github.com/rails/rails/commit/9e42cf019f2417473e7dcbfcb885709fa2709f89).

It'll look something like this:

PostgreSQL index naming convention to remember

The standard names for indexes in PostgreSQL are:

{tablename}_{columnname(s)}_{suffix}

where the suffix is one of the following:

  • pkey for a Primary Key constraint;
  • key for a Unique constraint;
  • excl for an Exclusion constraint;
  • idx for any other kind of index;

How to create small, unique tokens in Ruby

How to create small, unique tokens in Ruby

That is is basically a "fork" of blog article i'm constantly returning to. It seems that the blog is down:

My choice: Dave Bass’s rand().to_s() trick

Dave Bass proposed this which I picked up for my implementation (here for an 8-chars token):

0-downtime deploy Unicorn Systemd

##Working configuration to accomplish 0-downtime deploy with unicorn 5.x and systemd on centos 7

The scope is to accomplish a 0-downtime reload of a unicorn service managed by Systemd on a Centos 7 distro.

The examples and assumptions that i found on the bogomips's unicorn repo seems not working for centos 7.

Below a working configuration tested on Centos 7 and unicorn 5.1

Any advice/remark will be appreciated
