Deploying a subfolder to GitHub Pages

Sometimes you want to have a subdirectory on the master branch be the root directory of a repository’s gh-pages branch. This is useful for things like sites developed with Yeoman, or if you have a Jekyll site contained in the master branch alongside the rest of your code.

For the sake of this example, let’s pretend the subfolder containing your site is named dist.

Step 1

Remove the dist directory from the project’s .gitignore file (it’s ignored by default by Yeoman).

So, we figured creating our own chatroom could be fun.

It's something we can all work together on.

We don't plan on moving there but the project itself could be interesting for the whole room to collaborate work on.

What we need to discuss now:

What technologies we want to use (Node/Express seems natural for serverside. What about clientside?)
What features to we want? Do we just want to start with a clone of the SO chat?

okay here is the deal, this is a WIP and i'm still working on it but in the meantime you might enjoy it.

install by downloading the script, and dragging and dropping on chrome://extensions/

refresh the chat page and click the 'snippets' button.

the interface is pretty simple:
