Updating your Heroku SSL certificate

(check the pt_BR version here) Updating your Heroku SSL certificate

To generate the new SSL you need to follow these steps:

  • @dev Generate a .CSR (a key text file);
  • @dev Send the .CSR to your certificate authority (We use TheSSLstore);
    • @dev Verify the domain ownership through email (you can also put a file at your http server);
    • @dev Download the .CRT file (probably a zipball with a bunch of .CRT files);
  • @dev Brew the bundle.crt

A patch to reuse Moped connections in Mongoid inside Celluliod Actors. If you use Sidekiq with loads of work, you may want reuse your connections. Do not use this toghether with kiqstand as they try to achieve opposite results.

class Thread < ::Thread
def []= key, value
if key_on_thread? key

Response to a dude who asked about heaven. https://github.com/holman/feedback/issues/422

@holman got a request about our deployment system, heaven

I know it's not a high priority, but has there been any activity on open-sourcing the core Heaven gem?

There is. I've been working on extracting the non-GitHub specific parts into two gems. This first is a CLI portion called hades. The second is an HTTP API portion called heaven.

When you open source something previously used as in internal tool like Heaven, Hubot, Boxen, etc., how do you manage and hook in the parts that need to stay internal?

Normally I focus around four questions:

How to connect PS3 controller to a Mac or PC

How to connect PS3 controller to a Mac or PC

This is how you connect PS3 controller to Mac OSX, PC, etc. when previously connected to a PS3. You will need a Mini USB cable. Overcome your laziness, get up of your chair, and go get one!

A big misconception is that keep holding PS button will reset the controller's pairing. It DOES NOT! From my testings, the controller keeps paring with the last machine it was CONNECTED VIA A USB CABLE.

Here are the steps:

Opening up mosh in firewalld using firewall-cmd

Mosh (mobile shell) is a gift from the Gods(tm). Anyone with spotty internet or wireless connection has suffered the pain of a lost SSH session. Sure, one can fire up screen (or tmux as the kids are using these days), but that's an extra step and you are still using the SSH protocol.

I'm not here to tout the benefits of Mosh, you came here to open it up in your firewall.

  1. Create the following file as /etc/firewalld/services/mosh.xml
  2. firewall-cmd --add-service=mosh --permanent
  3. firewall-cmd --reload

If you tend to have a lot of sessions (not recommended), you can increase the ports, but the default should be fine for most applications.
