Flask + uWSGI + nginx Primer

I've been having trouble with serving a Flask app via uWSGI and nginx, so I thought I'd put together some of the basics to help out others.

How this shit works

Flask is managed by uWSGI.
uWSGI talks to nginx.

Increasing replication factor for a topic

Create a custom reassignment plan (see attached file inc-replication-factor.json). In this case we are going from replication factor of 1 to 3.

Run Kafka partition reassignment script:

kafka-reassign-partitions --zookeeper $ZOOKEEPER_CONNECT \
    --reassignment-json-file /home/liquidnt/inc-replication-factor.json  \
    --execute

Verify if the assignment was successful

Generating new Projects using maven archetypes

jBPM project

Manually create business application In case you can’t use jBPM online service to generate the application you can manually create individual projects. jBPM provides maven archetypes that can be easily used to generate the application. In fact jBPM online service uses these archetypes behind the scenes to generate business application.

Openshift build secrets for cloning git repos using SSH Keys

To create ssh secret:

oc create secret generic sshsecret \
    --from-file=ssh-privatekey=$HOME/.ssh/id_rsa

1. Clone your fork:

git clone [email protected]:YOUR-USERNAME/YOUR-FORKED-REPO.git

2. Add remote from original repository in your forked repository:

cd into/cloned/fork-repo
git remote add upstream git://github.com/ORIGINAL-DEV-USERNAME/REPO-YOU-FORKED-FROM.git
git fetch upstream

##Windows users:

Download wamp: http://www.wampserver.com/en/
Download and extract cmder mini: https://github.com/cmderdev/cmder/releases/download/v1.1.4.1/cmder_mini.zip
Update windows environment variable path to point to your php install folder (inside wamp installation dir) (here is how you can do this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17727436/how-to-properly-set-php-environment-variable-to-run-commands-in-git-bash)

cmder will be refered as console
