Backups with restic

We just recently began to use restic as our main backup solution at home. I'm posting this mostly to document the configuration for myself. Anyone interested in using restic should thoroughly read the documentation before proceeding.

By default, backups are run with encryption and compression enabled. Although many people have all hosts in a multi-host network sharing a single repo, I chose to separate them out (to limit the impact of any future data corruption and simplify security configuration).

In Adobe Flash Player versions newer than 32.0.0.344 they added a "Timebomb" for the EOL. the player would refuse to run any custom flash content after 12/01/2021, instead it would just show this

So knowing this, Lets crack it!

I acturally started looking into this before the 12/01/2021 hit, but only recently did i acturally discover a way to bypass the killswitch

(also- im aware i was not the first to do this, but i still did do it)

These settings apply to normal, functioning Windows 10 and 11 Pro desktops and laptops with

Bluetooth
IPv4
IPv6
no touch screen

Safe to disable

Completing a video game

Install prettier
