Google Apps Script for converting Excel (.xls or .xlsx) file to Google Spreadsheet. Drive API must be enabled in your script's Advanced Google Services and in Developers Console for the script to work (see https://developers.google.com/apps-script/guides/services/advanced#enabling_advanced_services for details).

How effectively delete a git submodule.

To remove a submodule you need to:

  • Delete the relevant section from the .gitmodules file.
  • Stage the .gitmodules changes git add .gitmodules
  • Delete the relevant section from .git/config.
  • Run git rm --cached path_to_submodule (no trailing slash).
  • Run rm -rf .git/modules/path_to_submodule (no trailing slash).
  • Commit git commit -m "Removed submodule "
  • Delete the now untracked submodule files rm -rf path_to_submodule

The best explanation of Python decorators I’ve ever seen. (An archived answer from StackOverflow.)

NOTE: This is a question I found on StackOverflow which I’ve archived here, because the answer is so effing phenomenal.

Q: How can I make a chain of function decorators in Python?

If you are not into long explanations, see [Paolo Bergantino’s answer][2].

Convert Google WOFF font to base64 format and inline to <head> of document
// Get binary file using XMLHttpRequest
function getBinary(file) {
var xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhr.open("GET", file, false);
xhr.overrideMimeType("text/plain; charset=x-user-defined");
xhr.send(null);
return xhr.responseText;
}
// Base64 encode binary string
// Create or open an existing Sheet and click Tools > Script editor and enter the code below
// 1. Enter sheet name where data is to be written below
var SHEET_NAME = "Sheet1";
// 2. Run > setup
// 3. Publish > Deploy as web app
// - enter Project Version name and click 'Save New Version'
// - set security level and enable service (most likely execute as 'me' and access 'anyone, even anonymously)
// 4. Copy the 'Current web app URL' and post this in your form/script action
// 5. Insert column names on your destination sheet matching the parameter names of the data you are passing in (exactly matching case)
