Use Backbone.js classes as native CoffeeScript classes

Sass/Less Comparison

In this document I am using Sass's SCSS syntax. You can choose to use the indented syntax in sass, if you prefer it, it has no functional differences from the SCSS syntax.

For Less, I'm using the JavaScript version because this is what they suggest on the website. The ruby version may be different.

Two approaches: "Traditional" vs Pub/Sub (via rmurphey)
// Note that this uses my Pub/Sub implementation, which is slightly different than
// phiggins' in that jQuery custom events are used, and as such the first event handler
// argument passed is the event object.
//
// jQuery Tiny Pub/Sub: A really, really, REALLY tiny pub/sub implementation for jQuery
// https://gist.github.com/661855
// The "traditional" way.

jQuery unserialize Form plugin
// Unserialize (to) form plugin - by Christopher Thielen
// adapted and desuckified (a little) by Paul Irish
// takes a GET-serialized string, e.g. first=5&second=3&a=b and sets input tags (e.g. input name="first") to their values (e.g. 5)
(function($) {
$.fn.unserializeForm = function(values) {

Four ways to do Pub/Sub with jQuery 1.7 and jQuery UI (in the future)

#Four Ways To Do Pub/Sub With jQuery and jQuery UI (in the future)

Between jQuery 1.7 and some of work going into future versions of jQuery UI, there are a ton of hot new ways for you to get your publish/subscribe on. Here are just four of them, three of which are new.

(PS: If you're unfamiliar with pub/sub, read the guide to it that Julian Aubourg and I wrote here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/scriptjunkie/hh201955.aspx)

##Option 1: Using jQuery 1.7's $.Callbacks() feature:

$.Callbacks are a multi-purpose callbacks list object which can be used as a base layer to build new functionality including simple publish/subscribe systems. We haven't yet released the API documentation for this feature just yet, but for more information on it (including lots of examples), see my post on $.Callbacks() here:
