Backup your OpenShift MySQL database. My DB is only small so I didn't bother to compress it through a pipe. sftp it back from your local machine afterwards This is basically a quick hack from running "type mysql" on the OpenShift gear - hint: it's a bash function/alias
mkdir ~/app-root/data/tmp
mysqldump -h $OPENSHIFT_MYSQL_DB_HOST -P ${OPENSHIFT_MYSQL_DB_PORT:-3306} -u ${OPENSHIFT_MYSQL_DB_USERNAME:-'admin'} --password="$OPENSHIFT_MYSQL_DB_PASSWORD" --all-databases > ~/app-root/data/tmp//all.sql

DO NOT DO THIS ANYMORE. The following script installs a 32-bit version of Neko, instead of the 64-bit version that comes with the Haxe 3 install. Your Neko install should match your OS X install, which means unless you are running an OLD system, you want the 64-bit version. OpenFL does properly support 64-bit Neko, and expects this on 64-bit sys…
#!/bin/sh
# Download Neko
curl -L http://nekovm.org/_media/neko-2.0.0-osx.tar.gz > neko-2.0.0-osx.tar.gz
# Extract and copy files to /usr/lib/neko

Make environment variables available in Jekyll Liquid templates

Environment variables in Jekyll templates

This is one way to pass some data (API tokens, etc.) to your Jekyll templates without putting it in your _config.yml file (which is likely to be committed in your GitHub repository).

Copy the environment_variables.rb plugin to your _plugins folder, and add any environment variable you wish to have available on the site.config object.

In a Liquid template, that information will be available through the site object. For example, _layouts/default.html could contain:

Sexy transition between Activities (based on Twitter transition)

Looking at the officiel Twitter Android client I've noticed the slight cool & sexy transition between activities. I was curious to know how that worked so I had fun with android xml animations and ended up with that:

push_left_in.xml

Complete HTML and Tumblr shortcodes to render all the post types. I often have to create this, and it's the same every time. Doing this will save me SO MUCH time!
