Checkout github pull requests locally

Locate the section for your github remote in the .git/config file. It looks like this:

[remote "origin"]
	fetch = +refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/origin/*
	url = [email protected]:joyent/node.git

Now add the line fetch = +refs/pull/*/head:refs/remotes/origin/pr/* to this section. Obviously, change the github url to match your project's URL. It ends up looking like this:

Moved the Write Ahead Log (WAL) to its own partition (so fsyncs of the WAL don't flush all of the dirty data files)

Basic setup of WAL-E for continuous archiving and recovery

WAL-E needs to be installed on all machines, masters and slaves.

How to install WAL-E

Only one machine, the master, writes WAL segments via continuous archiving. The configuration for the master postgresql.conf is:

archive_mode = on
archive_command = 'envdir /etc/wal-e.d/env wal-e wal-push %p'
archive_timeout = 60
