download, build, and install aur packages with ansible

About

When using ArchLinux, I typically prefer to use an AUR helper like pacaur or yaourt to automate away the process of installing a community package.

Ansible's pacman module is great, but it doesn't support AUR packages or pacman's -U flag. Installing AUR packages with Ansible seemed to be left as an exercise to the user, and since AUR helpers do not come with a fresh Arch install, I

A very simple, seedable JavaScript PRNG. NOTE: Please read comments on why this is not a good choice.

A pattern I created to maintain connections to an RPC server in Go. Since net/rpc does not provide any methods for automatically reconnecting to an RPC server, I needed a work-around. Additionally, rpc.Client does not export any state variables (rpc.Client.shutdown and rpc.Client.closing) nor does it export the Client's Mutex. So, we wrap the rp…

A sham that will throw a window resize event even when scrollbars are added/removed (this is not something the standard window resize event does). Tested in IE9+, Chrome & Firefox latest.
// Demo: http://jsfiddle.net/pFaSx/
// Create an invisible iframe
var iframe = document.createElement('iframe');
iframe.id = "hacky-scrollbar-resize-listener";
iframe.style.cssText = 'height: 0; background-color: transparent; margin: 0; padding: 0; overflow: hidden; border-width: 0; position: absolute; width: 100%;';
// Register our event when the iframe loads
iframe.onload = function() {
// The trick here is that because this iframe has 100% width

git pre-commit hook for stripping output from IPython notebooks
#!/usr/bin/env python
"""strip outputs from an IPython Notebook
Opens a notebook, strips its output, and writes the outputless version to the original file.
Useful mainly as a git filter or pre-commit hook for users who don't want to track output in VCS.
This does mostly the same thing as the `Clear All Output` command in the notebook UI.

Big list of http static server one-liners

Each of these commands will run an ad hoc http static server in your current (or specified) directory, available at http://localhost:8000. Use this power wisely.

AutoHotkey script to map Caps Lock to Escape when it's pressed on its own and Ctrl when used in combination with another key, à la Steve Losh. Adapted from one that does something similar with the Ctrl Key on the Vim Tips Wiki (http://vim.wikia.com/wiki/Map_caps_lock_to_escape_in_Windows?oldid=32281). (Plus contribs from @randy909 & @mmikeww.)
